Joyof6 is a project first conceived in 2004 with its focus aimed at Africa. Launched on June 6th 2006, Joyof6 has 6 more days of action, spanning 6 years, 6 months, and 6 days. The next 07-07-07, a Saturday, sees the Tour de France begin in London. Joyof6 will be promoting the use of the bicycle, particularly in Central London. Joyof6 aims to highlight problems and solutions arising from the strains of water shortage, worsening weather, excessive energy demand, dwindling natural reserves, over-population, rising temperature and sea-level, and increasing carbon output. The new website will offer an impartial voice bringing together individuals and businesses, showcasing and indexing solutions: who is doing what to ensure we can not later look back and say “we could have done more”. The threat is uncertain, the time-frame more so but seemingly ever-shortening; positive action is possible and results are already being achieved; the way we live can change with a minimum of sacrifice, provided action is begun. On Mayday 2006, the call went out, still unheeded. Mayday 2007 will see Joyof6 bang the drum again. What needs to happen before we are universally convinced? Joyof6 would-like-to-meet like-minded partner to do mutually and planetary enhancing business – funding needed.
